Junior Test and Characterization Engineer

Job Description
The Junior Test and Characterization Engineer will work with the semiconductor lasers and PIC team to develop and execute test and characterization plans for photonic components. The test and characterization engineer will also take responsibility for building new test sets and updating and modifying existing test sets as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interface with the technical team leaders to develop and perform tests for photonic devices
- Perform data collection, analysis and visualization for review with device scientists
- Mount/wire bond photonic devices in preparation for test and analysis
- Perform test set maintenance and calibration
- Construct new test sets, including cryogenic components and tooling
- Transfer new test protocols into production line use
- Generate and maintain test documentation

Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Process Engineer

Job Description
A Senior Process Engineer will be working as a key member of the device fabrication team for semiconductor lasers and photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for a variety of applications. Examples include both integrated active and passive photonic devices, in III-V and Si-based platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate hands-on in day-to-day semiconductor device fabrication working with fabrication engineers
- Design, develop and qualify compound semiconductor wafer fabrication processes
- Integrate various processes and develop wafer fabrication process flows for new product introductions
- Improve various wafer fab processes for manufacturability, design robustness, cycle time reduction, yield improvement, and cost saving

Job Description
The hands-on electronics technician to participate in all aspects of the development of complex optoelectronic products. Roughly sixty percent of your time will be dedicated to assembling densely populated printed circuit boards incorporating state of the art surface mount technologies, prototyping various circuits, and performing non-production level testing and troubleshooting. The remaining time you will be focused on circuit design, PCB layout, and developing software/firmware depending on the current needs of the department. Candidates wishing to be involved in design activities should have at least some prior experience with circuit design, schematic capture, board layout, or software/firmware development tools or have a strong desire and demonstrated ability to learn.

Job Description
The Senior Product Engineer will be working as member of Engineering team, with focus on product functionality, performance, yield and quality. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving released laser products or laser product lines, monitor and report yield and performance trends, collaborate with CMs, the fab and other engineering teams on keeping the product line healthy. In addition, the product engineer will help drive new product configurations and developments to their full release. Hands on product characterization duties can be part of the assignment. This position will interface with customers and suppliers on an as needed basis (across multiple locations), so excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute product specifications, test protocols, and validation plans based on customer and market requirements.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing. Observe, report, understand and work towards a solution on product yield issues.
- Generate and present run charts and SPC charts.
- Provide daily support to manufacturing for feedback and troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams, including product demonstrations, customer training, and technical documentation.
- Review test data and release product to finished goods inventory.
- Generate test requirements for new product development.
- Generate and maintain specification documents and datasheets.
- Generate and maintain manuals and user instructions.
- Work with Manufacturing and Planning to determine lead times.

Job Description
The Manufacturing Packaging Engineer will work with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to perform sustaining engineering duties for the production line as well as take part in new product insertion. This will involve development and implementation of advanced packaging solutions for photonic devices and systems. The work will also include working with vendors, maintaining and updating project schedules and maintaining and updating bills of materials. Hands on activities in the lab will include implementation and improvement of processes such as, but not limited to, epoxy bonding, soldering, lens placement, lens alignment, wire bonding, and active optical alignment.

- Interface with the photonic design team to understand packaging needs and requirements
- Participate in package design for new products, including mechanical, optical, and thermal elements with emphasis on design for manufacturing

Job Description
The Instatune Laser Product Engineer will be working as member of Engineering team, with focus on Instatune functionality, performance, yield and quality. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving Instatune laser product line, monitor and report yield and performance trends, collaborate with CMs, the fab and other engineering teams on keeping the product line healthy. In addition, the product engineer will help drive new Instatune product configurations and developments to their full release. Hands on product characterization duties can be part of the assignment. This position will interface with customers and suppliers on an as needed basis (across multiple locations), so excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute product specifications, test protocols, and validation plans based on customer and market requirements.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing. Observe, report, understand and work towards a solution on product yield issues.
- Generate and present run charts and SPC charts.
- Provide daily support to manufacturing for feedback and troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams, including product demonstrations, customer training, and technical documentation.
- Review test data and release product to finished goods inventory.

- Process development for 3D-printing of polymer optical waveguides including modifying and running complex recipes
- Post-lithography development and cleaning of parts, which involves working with solvents in a chemical fume hood
- Inspection and handling of small and fragile parts
- Detailed logging of process parameters and deviations
- Interface with the technical team leaders to develop lithography recipes, report tool issues, and develop and perform tests for photonic devices
- Perform data collection, analysis and visualization for review with device scientists
- Perform test set maintenance and calibration
